BASF is an active partner to the industry in Sweden. We sell products from BASF's wide product range as well as supplementary products from a number of other suppliers.
Our most important customers are to be found in the paper and chemicals industries, in the automotive industry and in the agricultural sector. BASF companies in Sweden employ about 70 people, located at our sites in Gothenburg (head office), Hisings Kärra and Hisings Backa. Part of our sales force is home-based.
We supply raw materials to most industries in Sweden. We market a wide range of products, including chemicals, crop protection products, dispersions and pigments, plastics, polyurethane systems and leading edge coatings products, including coatings for new cars, refinish paints for respraying damaged vehicles.
BASF AB, the main operating company in Sweden, represent the connecting part between the industry in our region and the competence within science and technology acquired by the BASF group during many years in close co-operation with customers all over the world. We work in close cooperation with the other BASF companies all over Europe. Among the synergy effects of a pan-European organisation are the benefits we can draw from each other's know-how and special products.
From the head office of BASF AB in Gothenburg, we sell products through our business units Performance Chemicals, Care Chemicals, Inorganics, Acrylics & Dispersions, Polyurethanes, Engineering Plastics, Intermediates, Wolman division etc.
Offering a comprehensive range of products for field and specialty crops, our Agricultural Solutions division provides expert advice and solutions to suit individual farmer needs.
BASF Coatings Services AB is a subsidiary of BASF Coatings GmbH, supplying customers in Sweden with leading edge coatings products, including complete automotive Refinish systems for Bodyshops.
Research and development teams within BASF Coatings work to make coatings of the future more high performance and more eco-friendly. When it comes to Automotive OEM paints, Automotive Refinish products, and Industrial Coatings, BASF Coatings is the global player in the coatings industry.
The main facility of BASF Coatings Services AB is located in Hisings Kärra, close to Gothenburg. This is where the warehouse for the Coatings business in Sweden is situated. Also the Refinish Competence Center for the Nordic Region is placed in the same facilities.
Chemetall is a leading global supplier of special chemicals with a focus on processes for the surface treatment of metals, glass and plastics.
Chemetall develops and manufactures customized technology and system solutions for surface treatment. Their products protect metals from corrosion, facilitate forming and machining, allow parts to be optimally prepared for the painting process and ensure proper coating adhesion. These chemicals are used in a wide range of industries and end-markets, such as automotive, aerospace, aluminum finishing, and metal forming.
In Sweden, Chemetall is represented with a sales office at Backa Strandgata in Hisings Backa. Chemetall AB is a regional subsidiary and active in the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden) plus Estonia. The colleagues keep in contact with customers both through own personnel and additionally via local domestic independent agents for optimal market coverage.The site has their own, both analytical- and application, laboratory resources available for giving extended customer support.
