BASF Kids’ Lab sparks curiosity and inspires “Clever Foodies” in Singapore
- Around 200 children learned how science can support informed, healthier choices through hands-on experiments
- BASF partners with students from the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic and Republic Polytechnic to support communities in Singapore through science education
Singapore – September 9, 2026 – BASF Kids’ Lab, an interactive, hands-on science education program, brought chemistry to life for around 200 children in Singapore on September 4 and 5, 2026, at Tampines Changkat Community Club. Reflecting BASF’s commitment to supporting quality science education, this year’s program expanded its reach to include children from Children’s Wishing Well (CWW), a registered charity and Institution of a Public Character (IPC) supporting children and youths from disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as children from the Tampines Changkat community and beyond.
Under the theme “Clever Foodies,” children ages 7 to 12 carried out safe, simple and interactive experiments to investigate the presence of vitamin C in beverages and discover the colorful world of food pigments. The activities gave participants a taste of life as young scientists while equipping them with knowledge and inspiration to make informed choices about their health and well-being.
BASF Kids’ Lab 2026 was made possible through a strong community partnership involving BASF employees and student volunteers from the National University of Singapore (Food Science and Technology Department), Nanyang Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic and Republic Polytechnic.
