BASF South Africa and Nigeria Receive Top Employer 2018 Accreditation

Johannesburg, South Africa – 13 October 2017. At a gala ceremony held at the Sandton Convention Center on Thursday 12 October 2017, the Top Employers Institute has for the sixth consecutive year, certified BASF South Africa as one of the top employers in the South Africa. The company was also placed first in the Chemicals sector. At the same event, BASF West Africa received its third certification as Top Employer Nigeria for its outstanding employee offerings within the African category.

The annual international research undertaken by the Top Employers Institute globally certifies excellence in the conditions that employers create for their people. When companies develop great working conditions, employees are highly engaged and motivated to give their best.

Central to the Top Employers programme is that participating companies must complete a stringent research process and meet the required high standard in order to achieve the certification. Topics covered include Talent Strategy; Workforce Planning; On Boarding; Learning & Development; Performance Management; Leadership Development; Career & Succession Management; Compensation & Benefits; and Organizational Culture.

To reinforce the validity of the process, all responses were independently audited. The outcome of the research has verified both BASF South Africa and BASF West Africa as having outstanding employee conditions and earned them a coveted spot amongst a select group of certified Top Employers.
