That’s why we developed the North American Apprenticeship Development Program (NAADP). As an apprentice at one of our manufacturing sites, you will receive up to three years of on-the-job training while earning an industry-recognized credential in a highly sought out career in manufacturing. BASF pays apprentices a competitive wage and covers the cost of tuition, books and fees related to the credential earned while in the program. Upon completion of the program, apprentices are considered for full-time positions.

Located along the banks of the Mississippi River between Hannibal and Palmyra, Missouri, our 1600-acre site is home to some of the world’s finest crop protection products. With approximately 400 employees and contractors, our site provides more than 20 technical and formulated agricultural solutions that help farmers meet the growing needs for an abundant and affordable supply of food for today and tomorrow. BASF’s Seneca, South Carolina site is BASF’s largest of six sites in South Carolina. This site has a fundamental focus on sustainability, as a site that recycles specialty chemical catalysts, such as old catalytic converters from vehicles, which means that fewer metals needed throughout everyday life need to be extracted from the earth. Specialty chemical catalysts and precious metal chemicals are used to produce a wide variety of products, including pharmaceuticals, fragrances, herbicides, fertilizers, plastics, automotive emission catalysts and more. This site supplies customers with fresh catalyst, as well as refining spent ones in a full-loop service. This site is a proud supporter of the Upstate community, donating to STEM Education, first responders, local non-profits and more. It also has a focus on diversity and inclusion, creating a welcome space for people from all walks of life.

BASF’s Whitehouse site employees 65 people and start operations in 1972. BASF Coatings Technical Support Center provides a wide range of R&D, technical, and customer support services for BASF coatings business groups, including Automotive Refinish. Whitehouse is a major site in the BASF R & D global network. Our Color/Technical Call Center together with Sales Operation Support E-Commerce Center processes more than 800 calls per month, while the Refinish Training Center enrolls more than 4,200 students per year in technical training courses. The site is the Global Color Center of Excellence for Automotive Refinish with more than 6,000 new colors developed each year and works closely with our German and other labs around the world to develop new and unique refinish paint product offerings. The site works closely with the local school board providing in school science demonstrations and has a scholarship for the top Chemistry student, and sponsors training for the top Chemistry teacher. The Whitehouse Site is a Certified Gold Wildlife Habitat Council Site.
Over the course of 30 months, as a Laboratory Technician Apprentice in BASF’s North American Apprenticeship Development Program (NAADP) program in Whitehouse, OH you will earn a competitive wage and:

BASF’s White Stone site employees 75 people and was acquired by BASF in 1973. The site manufactures surfactants for the personal care and cleaning industries. Materials produced at this site have gone into many products used in the fight against COVID-19, including soaps and disinfectants. It houses two batch reactor production areas and associated supporting logistics.

BASF’s site in Clemson, South Carolina is an integral component of BASF’s Performance Materials division. The site was purchased by BASF in 1985, employs 70 team members, and is located on more than 700 acres just north of Central, SC.
The site produces polyurethanes for diverse applications including insulation for commercial coolers, refrigerated tractor trailers, building construction, water heaters and picnic coolers, as well as flotation foam for use in boats and personal watercraft.

The BASF Site in Bishop, Texas, is a premier pharmaceutical facility, which produces products that improves quality of life of patients all over the world. BASF’s Wyandotte facility is home to one of the company’s largest Research & Development Centers and manufacturing sites in North America. The seven production units at the site create products that go into ski boots, seat cushions, car parts, sports equipment, pharmaceuticals, and home care products, to name a few. At BASF Chattanooga, we produce a range of water based high-quality polymer dispersions and ship to customers worldwide. Our products are used in formulations for construction chemicals, adhesives, printing/packaging products. With our comprehensive product portfolio and its extensive knowledge of the industry, our products provide customers with innovative and sustainable solutions.
Both Chattanooga facilities have a long history of sustained safety and environmental performance receiving many TN State and National awards. The site is also home to the Chattanooga "TRACER" team. The team is trained and equipped to respond to incidents associated with the transportation and use of chemical products. The team regularly participates in joint emergency practice sessions with the Chattanooga Fire Department.
The Lost Mound production facility sits adjacent to the Tennessee River and beside the Tennessee River Park. The River Park walkway traverses the length of the site in a demonstration of the successful coexistence of the chemical industry and community recreational assets.

Located in Geismar, Louisiana in Ascension Parish, the North Geismar facility sits on 15 acres of land and has two key production units: Geismar Systems Hub (GSH) and Dinitro-Toluene (DNT). DNT is the precursor chemical used in the production of the chemical Toluene Diisocyanate. Toluene Diisocyanate is essential in the production of furniture, bedding and automobile packaging. GSH is BASF’s newest polyurethane system hub in North America and creates a product that is used in items such as instrument panels in vehicles, tractor seats, memory foam pillows, air filter gaskets, and more.

of Highway I-40 on Highway 111. The Sparta, TN site manufactures Nylon 6, Nylon 6/6, and Polyester colored specialty resins used for:
- Automotive –auto interior, mirror and window housings
- Consumer and Industrial –power tool housings, furniture applications
- Power Distribution and Telecommunications –electrical switches, wall plates
- Advanced color technology

BASF’s site in Attapulgus, Georgia is a petroleum cracking catalyst manufacturing facility, located about 13 miles southeast of Bainbridge, Georgia and 25 miles from Tallahassee, Florida. The site employs 172 people plus contractors, and its products are used to transform oil into jet fuel, gasoline, heating oil and more. It also produces fertilizer that helps farmers grow the food we eat. BASF in Attapulgus has a focus on community, supporting many worthy causes and organizations, including the Decatur County United Way, through donations, contributions and volunteer service. The site is also active in the Bainbridge- Decatur County Chamber of Commerce.
Over the course of 30 months, as an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician Apprentice in BASF’s North American Apprenticeship Development Program (NAADP) program in Attapulgus, GA you will earn a competitive wage and:
- Participate in on-the-job training alongside experienced technicians.
- Earn a diploma in Industrial Electrical Technology from Southern Regional Technical College with tuition, books, and fees covered by BASF.

Located in the Portland community of Louisville, KY. With approximately 70 employees, The Louisville site produces Aqueous pigment dispersions primarily use by the architectural coatings industry: specifically interior and exterior paint. Our plant site is built to manufacture high-quality products in a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound manner. We are involved members of our community through Greater Louisville, Inc. (Louisville Chamber of Commerce), Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Louisville-Jefferson County Emergency Planning Commission, and others. The site also provides financial support to many charitable organizations and is involved in local schools.
Over the course of the 12-month apprenticeship, as an Operations Technician Apprentice in the NAADP program in Louisville, KY you will earn a competitive wage, benefits and:

Located in Southeast Texas, the Port Arthur site is one of the world’s largest integrated steam crackers that is a joint venture between BASF and TotalEnergies Petrochemicals & Refining USA. The steam cracker turns a wide range of cracker feedstocks such as ethane, propane, butane and naphtha into ethylene, propylene, butadiene and other chemical raw materials. With approximately 256 employees, the Port Arthur site’s products are used to produce anti-freeze, polyester, plastics, diapers, adhesives, pharmaceuticals and more.
The Port Arthur plant and employee volunteers support numerous charitable and community organizations, including United Way, Be the Match and area educational programs. The site produces polyurethanes for diverse applications servicing PM’s business segments: Construction, Industrial, Consumer, and Transportation. The site’s top customer manufactures 80% of the dialysis filters in North America using the products produced at the Orange, CA site.

Founded in 1988 by ITWC Inc. and purchased by BASF in 2012 the Malcom, IA site is a full-service provider to the urethane industry and a manufacturer of polyurethane products. Located in Malcom, Iowa, the site offers urethane solutions for several areas that include cast elastomers, spray elastomers, microcellular foam, integral skin foam, flexible molded foam, semi-flexible molded foam, rigid foam, coatings, adhesives and sealants and many more. Industries supported by Malcom products include transportation, industrial, commercial and construction. The BASF Malcom, Iowa site is part of the Performance Materials division of BASF and retains 50 employees.

BASF’s Battle Creek site employees 55 people and started operations in 2011. The Battle Creek battery materials manufacturing plant produces cathode materials used in lithium-ion batteries that power electric vehicles and consumer electronic applications. A variety of oxide cathode materials serve both existing customers and emerging players in the battery materials industry.
The Battle Creek site maintains its relationship as a good corporate citizen within the community by meeting with community leaders and supporting local programs.

BASF’s Pasadena site employees 64 people and started operations in 1983. The Pasadena manufacturing plant produces plasticizers that are used to provide flexibility to PVC. Typical applications are in wire insulation, flexible vinyl extrusions, flooring, garden hose, shower curtains, and many other soft vinyl articles.
