Experienced Talent

• Open to students completing their PhD in Biochemistry, Bioscience, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Science or those completing the first or second year of their first post-doctorate position.

• Consists of three 8-month assignments, which are customizable to match participants’ background, interests and business needs.

• PhD LDPs are expected to leverage their leadership potential through a variety of enrichment opportunities throughout the program such as: cross functional teams, innovation events, leadership seminars, conferences and research initiatives.

• Program participants are encouraged to take on assignments in areas completely outside their research expertise.

• May lead to R&D or opportunities in materials, organic chemical, polymers, agro-chemical, biotech, ecology, innovation and other areas.

• Open to MBA graduates within the last three years who have 3–10 years’ work experience and an interest in General Management.

• This program is an opportunity to excel in individual contributor roles that will allow you the development and experience for future leadership positions. The fast paced, immersive nature of the program accelerates the learning of all participants.

• Consists of three, 8-month assignments in various domestic locations that include opportunities to learn about various businesses, a functional unit within BASF, and the possibility of one international assignment. These assignments help you gain a diverse perspective of how BASF operates.

As an Analyzer Technician Apprentice, your days will be spent learning to perform all aspects of maintenance, modification, installation, calibration, and testing of analyzer instruments. Additionally, you will learn to perform scheduled maintenance activities and will be critical in troubleshooting instrumentation issues.

As an Instrument and Electrical Technician Apprentice, you will learn to consult manufacturers' manuals to perform testing and maintenance tasks. You will also learn to use testing devices to inspect and test instruments and system operations to diagnose problems. You will not be limited to just testing and maintaining equipment; you will get the opportunity to install and maintain instruments on new or existing plant equipment and processes.

As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician Apprentice, you will learn to complete repairs and perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment. You will be the person who ensures that the plant equipment works effectively. 

As a Process Operations Technician Apprentice, you will learn to monitor and adjust plant operations and processes. You will also learn to safely operate pumps, compressors, and a variety of other plant equipment as well as how to adjust the process and maintain operations.

As a Laboratory Technician Apprentice, you will evaluate materials and product samples to make sure they meet quality standards. You will conduct quality assurance tests using a variety of instruments and laboratory equipment. A solid understanding of basic mathematical and statistical formulas will be your friend when you analyze test results.
