Our Professional and Leadership Development Programs develop your skills and build your professional network.

BASF's Professional and Leadership Development Programs were created to provide highly motivated, mobile-minded current university students and recent graduates an opportunity to enhance their professional skills through a variety of diverse learning experiences. Participants will contribute to real-world rotational assignments within different domestic and international locations. They will explore career options and develop technical and professional decision-making skills, while fulfilling specific business needs. Participants also have the opportunity to assess their capabilities, skills and interests, and gain valuable exposure to BASF's culture, values, and decision-makers.

How do I join the BASF Professional Development Program in a Marketing role?

Current college students and graduates are recruited for our various programs through BASF's Professional Development Program. Our selection process starts at various colleges and universities through Career Fairs and On-Campus Interviews. A second round of interviews will be conducted at a BASF location. Decisions will be made and offers extended by November-December with start dates ranging from March to July. We have a specific program for Commercial (Sales, Marketing, Procurement) roles for both interns and recent graduates.

Which qualifications do you need?

Open to high-potentials working towards or graduating with a B.S./B.A. in Business – Marketing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Management or other business disciplines with demonstrated academic achievement (Minimum GPA 3.2). Commitment to relocate anywhere in the U.S. and authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship. Excellent written and oral communication skills, outstanding work ethic, agility/leadership potential and active participation in extracurricular activities and on-campus organizations. Bilingual language skills and previous internship/co-op experience a plus.

Where to start your career?

For many PDP and LDP participants, their introduction to BASF begins with a 10- to 12-week summer internship. Along with assignment responsibilities, interns perform community service, attend networking events and are exposed to BASF leaders.

Once placed into the full time PDP Commercial program, you can expect to complete four 6 month rotations across the U.S. After the completion of the PDP program you can expect to be placed into a number of roles within BASF.

Which responsibilities are waiting for you?

During your 24 month cross-functional program you can expect to rotate through a variety of roles within Sales, Procurement, and Marketing.

Your development opportunities

Graduates from the PDP Commercial Program typically place into positions in sales, marketing or procurement and product management.
