Headline fungicide and Headline AMP fungicide named No-Till Farmer products of the year in fungicide category

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, January 16, 2012 – Headline® fungicide and Headline AMP fungicide were named top no-till products of 2011 for disease control during the 20th Annual National No-Tillage Conference in St. Louis, Missouri. This marks the sixth consecutive year that Headline and/or Headline AMP have been selected as product of the year, as voted by conservation tillage and no-till growers.

“BASF is committed to providing innovative, effective solutions that help growers get the most out of every acre,” said Paul Rea, Vice President, U.S. Crop Protection, BASF. “Headline and Headline AMP continue to be powerful tools for growers looking to control yield-robbing diseases, maximize yield potential and realize Plant Health benefits.”

Growers continue to recognize that Headline and Headline AMP fungicides are the leaders in the crop fungicide market in disease control and Plant Health. Both of these products provide ample benefits to growers, including stress tolerance, better standability and improved yield potential, all of which may positively impact a grower’s bottom line.

In on-farm research results from 2010-2011, Headline AMP showed consistent yield advantages of more than 12.8 bu/A in corn over untreated acres in 137 corn trials. Headline, the most researched fungicide on the market, provided consistent

soybean yield advantages of more than 4.6 bu/A over untreated acres in 260 soybean trials, while regularly outperforming competitive products.

Headline and Headline AMP were brought to the row crop market after years of research highlighting disease control and Plant Health,” Rea said. “These products are part of a growing portfolio of BASF fungicides, which will continue to expand in the coming years. BASF invests a great deal of resources in research and development to bring innovative products to the market to help growers be more successful.”
