BASF donates more than $5,000 to annual Operation Hope Campaign
Employees embrace the opportunity to address critical community needs
MCINTOSH, AL, December 22, 2014 – BASF employees raised more than $5,000 during the annual Operation Hope Campaign. The funds support local non-profit agencies in their effort to provide holiday gifts to those in need – with a focus on children, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the elderly in Clarke, Washington, Mobile and Baldwin counties.
“BASF employees are pleased to support local agency initiatives that help our local communities, and have done so for more than 20 years,” said George Vann, Vice President of the BASF site in McIntosh. “It warms our hearts to know that the needs in our communities will be met during the holiday season.”
This year, BASF employees participated in an annual bucket drop and silent auction to help raise funds for Operation Hope. More than 500 items were purchased and wrapped to support local agency wish list requests.
“The Washington County Department of Human Resources appreciates BASF’s support and generosity,” said Sylvia Williams, Program Director at the Washington County Department of Human Resources. “The gifts help needy children and families in our county. Without BASF’s generous support throughout the years, many children and families would not have a joyous holiday season.”
This year, the Operation Hope Campaign supported the Washington County Department of Human Resources, Washington County Educational Center for Independence, Jackson Health Care Facility, Bay Minette Family Service Center, St. Mary’s Home, Haven of Hope and Mobile County Catholic Social Services.
“BASF’s Operation Hope Campaign is a wonderful program,” said Jennifer Price, Director of the Family Service Center in Bay Minette. “It has helped our Center for many years. The children we assist during the holiday season are underprivileged and are living at or below poverty level. Without BASF’s Operation Hope Campaign, many of the families would not experience that special joy on Christmas morning. Thank you is not enough to express the gratitude our staff has for BASF.”
