Infographic: BASF and the Jets Promote “Team Chemistry” for a More Sustainable Game Day

FLORHAM PARK, NJ, November 12, 2015 – BASF invites New York Jets fans to a tailgate tent outside MetLife Stadium where they can win prizes, take home free giveaways, and learn how chemistry enables many aspects of the game day experience.

The tailgate at the November 12th “Green Out” against the Buffalo Bills is the second of five games that BASF will attend. The tent is located outside of the MetLife Gate and will start when parking lots open at 3:30 p.m.

Concrete Surfaces

Green Sense® Concrete technology is a BASF service package that allows concrete manufacturers to increase savings in energy, water consumption, air emissions, waste and fossil fuels.

Stadium Seating

Turf

Neopolen® P serves as the underbase of long-lasting artificial turf that is easy on the joints of players. Grass fibers made from Ultramid® PA6 are versatile enough incorporate into the fiber of T-shirts, The fabric exhibits a consistently high level of UV protection even after they have been worn and laundered several times, regardless of whether the garment is wet or dry.

Sports Gear

Sneakers: BASF's new foam Infinergy® is included in a revolutionary running shoe with unique suspension and shock absorbing properties.

Cleats: Made from thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), a type of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), which provides abrasion/cut resistance, good grip and uniform stiffness over temperature range.

Pants: PolyTHF® is a building blocks for elastic spandex fibers that have a broad range of applications in textiles.

Compostable Plastics

BASF has added alternatives to its range of the compostable and partially bio-based plastic ecovio®.  Available in both thermoforming and injection molding grades for all types of bottles and packaging, they consist predominantly of renewable raw materials and lend themselves well to dying. 

Vitamins
