BASF to provide $250,000 to support flood relief and rebuilding in Southern Louisiana

FLORHAM PARK, NJ, and GEISMAR, LA, August 26, 2016 – BASF today announced it will donate $250,000 through its BASF Foundation USA to various not-for-profit organizations supporting flood relief and rebuilding efforts in Southern Louisiana.

“Our employees, families and neighbors in Southern Louisiana have been significantly impacted by this unprecedented flooding,” said Tom Yura, BASF Senior Vice President and Geismar Site Manager. “BASF colleagues have been tirelessly working to provide much-needed, immediate relief to our employees and the community and will continue doing so as the rebuilding begins in the days and months to come.”

As part of the direct assistance to its employees impacted by the wide-spread flooding, BASF has established a relief fund for BASF colleagues to make charitable contributions that will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the company.

In addition, BASF is distributing supplies, donating products and coordinating ongoing volunteer support to help employees and the community recover.

BASF operates four sites in Louisiana. Its location in Geismar is the largest BASF manufacturing site in North America. More information about BASF’s operations in Louisiana is available on www.basf.us/louisiana.
