BASF adds Flo Rite Pro 2805 seed coating polymer, enhances seed treatment value for growers

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, December 6, 2021 – BASF is introducing the next generation of coating polymers for seed treatments with Flo Rite® Pro 2805. Designed to improve the adhesion and retention of active ingredients, Flo Rite Pro 2805 coating polymer preserves the complete value of seed treatments while helping protect both workers and the environment.

Key benefits of Flo Rite Pro 2805 include:

  • Exceptional retention of seed treatment active ingredients, preserving their value on seed
  • Improved uniform coverage and application of seed-applied insecticides, nematicides and fungicides
  • Reduced stickiness, bridging and clumping, resulting in increased seed drop accuracy
  • Compatibility with major fungicides, insecticides, nematicides and inoculants from BASF

This new innovation from BASF will replace Flo Rite 1706 in North America, providing improved seed flowability while maintaining a low use rate. Flo Rite Pro 2805 combats potential flowability issues by filling the pores and smoothing/drying the surfaces of the seeds for improved flowability, while adhering the seed treatment to the seed.

“We’re excited to launch Flo Rite Pro 2805, which will offer soybean, dry bean and pea growers an advanced polymer-based technology combining adhesion properties with exceptional seed flow to optimize plant populations for higher yields,” said Anna Vladimirova, Ph.D., BASF US Seed Treatment Colorants and Coatings Product Manager.
