BASF’s Orange, California site hosts its first Kids’ Lab

  • BASF welcomed students for a hands-on interactive experience.
  • In partnership with Muzeo Museum in Anaheim, Kids’ Lab offered two sessions to show students the connection between science and art.

ORANGE, CA, August 8, 2025 – BASF’s Orange, California site recently hosted its first Kids’ Lab, an interactive, fun, and free chemistry education program. In partnership with the Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center in Anaheim, this innovative program offers a weeklong summer STEAM camp for students aged 9-14 that seamlessly blends science and art.

The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to engage students in hands-on learning experiences that highlight the connection between science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM). The camp included two sessions and welcomed a total of 23 enthusiastic students.

Participants had the opportunity to engage in interactive experiments, art projects, and collaborative challenges, fostering creativity and critical thinking skills. The partnership with Muzeo, a museum that engages the community in exploring diverse heritage, culture, and arts, ensures that the program provides a unique perspective on how art can enhance scientific inquiry.

“BASF is committed to inspiring the next generation of engineers and chemists,” said Vasilis Contos, Site Manager at BASF’s Orange, California site. “Through community outreach programs like Kids’ Lab, we aim to ignite a passion in young people for learning and encourage their interest in STEAM fields. These programs are designed to spark curiosity and nurture the next generation of innovators.”

The success of the Kids’ Lab underscores BASF’s strong commitment to community engagement and educational outreach. BASF plans to build on this momentum by expanding the program, continuing to foster curiosity, creativity, and a passion for science among students.
