BASF Chattanooga is now accepting applications for the 2026 TECH Academy

CHATTANOOGA, TN, February 5, 2026 — BASF’s Chattanooga site, in partnership with Chattanooga State Community College, will host its annual TECH Academy program, which introduces high school students to technical and craft careers through skills classes, workshops, and industry tours. Beginning the week of June 8, participating students will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM)-related career fields through hands-on learning with industry professionals.

The program will show participants what it is like working as an operator, instrument technician, maintenance technician, lab technician, welder, and many other jobs.

"TECH Academy provides students with an immersive and inspiring learning experience, blending engaging classroom instruction with behind-the-scenes tours of local manufacturing facilities,” said Brittany Davis, Operations Manager at BASF's Chattanooga site. “By connecting students directly with industry professionals, our TECH Academy program helps them discover the wide range of career paths available.”

Topics such as engineering practices, 3D printing, mechatronics, robotics, and welding are explored in classroom and in-field settings. Tours will include BASF’s Chattanooga facility and other industry sites in the Chattanooga area.

The program, fully funded by BASF, is free for students and is part of BASF’s science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) education and workforce development efforts.

Applications for this year’s program are now open and will close on Monday, April 20, 2026. Interested students can apply here.
