BASF responds to rising weed resistance with Voraxor herbicide and Zidua PLUS herbicide
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, October 22, 2026 – Starting a season with clean fields and keeping them clean is a primary principle of effective weed control. BASF is introducing two new herbicide solutions that will help farmers handle variable environmental conditions in 2027. With the introduction of Voraxor™ herbicide and Zidua® PLUS herbicide, BASF is providing farmers with enhanced flexibility and broad-spectrum control across the season, from effective burndown applications to long-lasting residual weed management.
Start your season with Voraxor herbicide, the future of burndown applications, featuring:
- Speed: New active ingredient trifludimoxizan provides fast burndown of tough weeds, providing results in days, not weeks
- Versatility: Delivers consistent control of problematic weeds like marestail, henbit, kochia and pigweed. It also demonstrates efficacy on PPO-resistant weed species like Palmer amaranth and waterhemp.
“Voraxor herbicide allows farmers to stay ahead of tough weeds and delivers fast, consistent burndown,” said Josh Putman, Technical Marketing Manager at BASF Agricultural Solutions. “By delivering solutions with consistent performance against tough grasses and broadleaf weeds, BASF helps farmers do the Biggest Job on Earth.”
Zidua PLUS herbicide delivers broad-spectrum, long-lasting weed control that features:
- Flexibility: Flexibility to apply before or after crop emergence with no fear of burn across trait or soil type.
- Comprehensive weed management: A powerful tool for managing large and small-seeded broadleaf weeds and grasses including tough weeds such as waterhemp, Palmer amaranth, redroot pigweed, foxtails barnyard grass and more
- Residual endurance: Exceptional residual endurance, maintaining more than 95% control after 60 days on key problem species
“We’re excited to enhance the tools farmers can use in their soybean fields,” said Matt Inman, Technical Marketing Manager at BASF Agricultural Solutions. “Zidua PLUS herbicide is available for pre- or post-emergence application for flexibility and season-long adaptability to changing field conditions.”
Voraxor herbicide and Zidua PLUS herbicide provide farmers with a comprehensive solution needed to combat challenging weeds. To learn more about Voraxor herbicide or Zidua PLUS herbicide, contact your local BASF representative or visit agriculture.basf.us.
