CHATTANOOGA, TN, JANUARY 7, 2019 – Employees from across BASF’s site in Sparta provided Christmas gifts for five families with children in foster care. The children range in age from 8 months to 15 years, and each has been temporarily placed with a family member until they are able to return home or other permanent options are sought. Employees delivered the gifts to the families on Wednesday, Dec. 19. CHATTANOOGA, TN, JANUARY 7, 2019 – BASF recently donated five bins filled with hundreds of toys as well as two bikes to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. Marines from Chattanooga’s Mike Battery, 3rd Battalion, 14th Regiment dropped by BASF to collect the toys, which will be delivered to families across the community. For more than 25 years, employees at BASF’s Chattanooga site have been collecting toys that are distributed as Christmas gifts to children in need in the community. (Pictured from left: Sgt. SPARTA, TN, JANUARY 10, 2019 – Each year, BASF’s site in Sparta hosts students from White County High School’s work-based learning program. Angelle Howard, 2018 White County High School graduate, successfully completed the program and is continuing her training at the site while pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering from Tennessee Tech University. This program supports the company’s growing workforce needs by creating a diverse pipeline of talent and fostering students’ interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) careers. BASF and White County High School Provide Opportunity for Work-Based Learning

HUNTSVILLE, AL, APRIL 15, 2019 - The BASF facility in Huntsville, Alabama received an Air Pollution Control Award from the Huntsville Department of Natural Resources for waste reduction and recycling initiatives in 2018. By increasing recycling of cardboard, shrink-wrap, paper, bottles, cans, scrap metal and more, the Huntsville site drastically reduced the amount of waste produced year-round. Using life cycle estimates, the site’s materials management efforts reduced carbon dioxide emissions in Huntsville by more than 692 metric tons. The environmental impact is equivalent to removing the annual air emissions from 146 passenger vehicles and conserving 77,814 gallons of gasoline. The Huntsville Department of Natural Resources presented the award to BASF during a ceremony at Huntsville’s City Hall.
