Florham Park, New Jersey

BASF’s North American headquarters building is the home for regional leadership, critical support functions (Human Resources, Communications, Tax, Legal, Procurement, Supply Chain Services, EH&S, etc.) and many key businesses, including Care Chemicals, Nutrition & Health, Intermediates, and Performance Products.

Geismar, Louisiana

The Verbund site is the largest BASF manufacturing site in North America. The site manufactures basic and specialty chemicals, intermediates and polyurethanes. Plans to build a new Polyurethanes Systems House were announced 2013.

Freeport, Texas

The Verbund site is a leading producer of basic chemicals, intermediates and fiber intermediates. Plans to build a new dispersions plant were announced in 2012. 

 

Port Arthur, Texas

BASF TOTAL Petrochemicals LLC is a 60-40 joint venture between BASF Corporation and Total Petrochemicals USA. BASF has responsibility for daily operations of one of the world’s largest naphtha steam crackers and a world-scale C4 olefins complex adjacent to the steam cracker. To capitalize on the shale gas revolution in the U.S., the JV revamped the Port Arthur stream cracker in 2013 to process ethane, found in abundance in U.S. shale gas.

Wyandotte, Michigan

The site develops and manufactures a variety of urethanes and specialty plastics for the automotive, furniture and electronic industries, as well as for a wide range of industrial applications.

Iselin, New Jersey

BASF’s global Catalysts division, headquartered in Iselin, New Jersey, along with the division’s principal North American R&D facility, is the world’s leading supplier of environmental and process catalysts. Also based in Iselin is BASF’s newly formed Battery Materials business unit, which has been integrated in the Catalysts division.

Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

The BASF site in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, is home of the BASF Agricultural Products Center (APC). The APC is headquarters for the BASF’s North American Crop Protection division, BASF Plant Science, BASF Global Insecticide Research, and BASF Global Agricultural Research & Development. In 2013, BASF completed a $33 million expansion of its R&D facilities in Research Triangle Park.

Tarrytown, New York

The Tarrytown facility is one of the four BASF research hubs in North America. It has a long history in the development of stabilization technologies, including groundbreaking work in thermal and light stabilizers.
