UPM Specialty Materials (UPM) and BASF are collaborating to help brand owners, converters and formulators accelerate the transition to recyclable*, fiber-based packaging solutions.

BASF is expanding its certified compostable ecovio^® portfolio with new grades that meet increasing recycling needs of flexible barrier packaging. The extended portfolio enables manufacturers of flexible packaging and brand owners to tailor barrier performance and end-of-life options like organics or paper recycling according to application functionalities, processing technologies and regulatory frameworks.

BASF and its European distribution organization, BTC Europe, will present their broad portfolio for the packaging industry at the international trade fair interpack, hall 10, booth A 44.

At the leading international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens from April 21 to 24, 2026 at the Messe Frankfurt, BASF will present numerous solutions and new projects in the textile sector to customers and partners at booth B 68 in hall 11.0. The focus is on product innovations and future-oriented technologies.

One of the largest components for the construction of BASF’s heat pump at the Ludwigshafen site has traveled several hundred kilometers via waterways – the 95‑ton so-called plate falling-film evaporator was shipped from Schwedt on the Oder River to the port of the chemical company’s main site.
