BASF supports fight against cancer in Michigan

WYANDOTTE, MI, January 27, 2012 -- BASF has donated $1,500 to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Michigan.  BASF Wyandotte site representatives Dr. James W. Taylor, Principal Scientist, Polymer Colloids Research, and Greg Pflum, Vice President and General Manger, presented the gift to Norb Promo, Deputy Executive Director of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Michigan.

In accepting the donation, Mr. Promo said, “All of the money raised in Michigan stays in the state. The contributions of BASF will be used towards lifesaving blood cancer research and providing information and support services.”

Dr. Taylor, who waged his own personal battle with leukemia, said, “It’s exciting to support the important and inspiring work of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The positive results of the society’s work are clearly close to my heart. People who go through these life-changing experiences have important stories to tell and we won’t be finished until we find a cure for this disease.”
