BASF introduces new high alkali-resistant, two-pack water-based ink system for packaging applications

WYANDOTTE, MI, June 21, 2013 – BASF has introduced Joncryl® FLX 5100 emulsion and Joncryl® FLX CL 1 crosslinker, a new high alkali-resistant, two-pack water-based ink system for packaging applications.

Printing ink formulas based on Joncryl® FLX 5100 emulsion and Joncryl® FLX CL 1 crosslinker enable ink manufacturers the opportunity to provide converters a two-pack ink system suitable for beverage labels, outdoor bags and other high alkali-resistant applications.

“Our new Joncryl® FLX two-pack ink technology now allows converters the option to print with water-based inks that have a longer pot life and lower toxicity ratings than many two-pack water-based systems currently used for these high resistant applications,” said Richard Grandke, Industry Manager – Printing & Packaging, Dispersions and Pigments for BASF in North America.

Joncryl is a registered trademark of BASF Corporation.
