BASF and Midea collaborate to establish a joint lab for R&D of home appliance cleaning solutions

Shanghai, China – September 8, 2023 - BASF's Care Chemicals Division and Midea Kitchen and Water Heater Appliances Division have recently inaugurated the "Midea-BASF Laundry Technology Lab" at Midea's Shanghai R&D Center. This innovative cross-border cooperation aims to develop high-quality washing products for home appliances and provide customers in China and overseas markets with a superior washing experience.
The new joint laboratory, hosted by the Washing Technology Research Institute of Midea Kitchen and Water Heater Appliances Division, is a key platform for collaborative R&D by both parties. The laboratory will leverage BASF's unique expertise in new raw materials and technologies, as well as Midea's prowess in-home appliance washing formula research, to promote the adoption of efficient, environmentally conscious, and sustainable washing methods.
During the launch event, Cai Linhai, Local Business Management Director Care Chemicals, Greater China, BASF stated, "This cross-border cooperation is the result of the joint efforts of multiple parties.
