Near-Zero SVOC

What are SVOCs?

SVOCs are organic compounds with a boiling point between 250–370°C. In coatings, they mainly originate from oligomers, coalescent agents, preservatives, and defoamers. Unlike VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), SVOCs are released more slowly into the air and are harder to degrade in the environment.

How to achieve Near-Zero SVOC?

Cutting-edge Dispersion Technology Design

a. Hydroplasticization

Water acts as a temporary plasticizer, interacting with polar groups in the polymer via hydrogen bonding.
This temporarily increases polymer mobility, lowers the minimum film forming temperature (MFFT), and enables film formation without the need for traditional plasticizers (which are SVOC sources).
As water evaporates, the polymer coalesces into a dense, uniform film with enhanced mechanical properties.

b. Multiphase Morphology Technique

This approach allows for low minimum film formation temperature (MFFT) and high performance without SVOC-releasing additives.
