Biodiversity, which describes the variety of life forms on Earth and is essential for functioning ecosystems, is under threat. As a chemical company, we utilize valuable resources from nature, directly interacting with natural habitats that we also impact through our activities. Therefore, the protection of biodiversity is a fundamental part of our commitment to a sustainable future.

As part of our sustainability commitment, BASF’s societal engagement contributes to the solution of relevant societal challenges for communities surrounding our sites and vulnerable communities worldwide.

Sustainability in Procurement

Sustainable action starts in our supply chain. At BASF, we work with partners who share our commitment to sustainability and responsibility – for their products, services, and the entire supply chain. Through our Supplier Code of Conduct, the “Together for Sustainability” initiative, and the Supplier CO₂ Management Program, we create clear framework conditions for compliance with human rights, labor and social standards, foster transparency on product carbon footprints, and support the implementation of reduction measures.
