Die neue Acetylen-Anlage, die die fast 60-jährige alte Anlage am Verbundstandort Ludwigshafen ersetzt, kann jährlich 90.000 Tonnen der vielseitigen Chemikalie produzieren. Etwa 20 Betriebe am Standort Ludwigshafen nutzen Acetylen als vielseitig einsetzbaren chemischen Baustein und Ausgangsstoff für viele Produkte des täglichen Lebens. BASF-Kunden produzieren daraus Arzneimittel, Kunststoffe, Lösemittel, Elektrochemikalien sowie hochelastische Textilfasern zum Beispiel für die Automobil-, Pharma-, Bau-, Konsumgüter- und Textilindustrie. Die Einbindung der Anlage in das Verbundkonzept der BASF bietet die Vorteile einer effizienten Ressourcennutzung, exzellenter Produktionssynergien und kurzer Lieferwege. Damit baut die BASF die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit des Standorts Ludwigshafen langfristig weiter aus. BASF Coatings supports young talents: Winners of the Car Painting skill competition at WorldSkills Lyon 2024

At this year's 47th WorldSkills Competition held in Lyon, France, more than 1,400 competitors from around 70 countries and regions took part in the event. BASF’s Coatings division, as the exclusive global industry partner for the Car Painting skill, supported the young talents and experts from around the world with its Glasurit 100 Line, the world's leading premium automotive refinish paint system. Recyclability of polyamides extended in the 2024 minimum standard for packaging

On 29 August 2024, the Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister (Central Agency Packaging Register – ZSVR) published the new minimum standard for recycling-friendly packaging. It now also recognizes barrier films that include not only polyethylene (PE) and polyamide (PA) but also ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) for high oxygen barrier as recyclable. These film structures are commonly used for sausage, cheese and meat packaging. For the first time, adhesive-laminated PE/PA film structures are now also recognized as recyclable in the minimum standard

Ludwigshafen, September 12, 2024 – BASF’s Operating Division Care Chemicals today released the second edition of its Responsible Sourcing Report (RSR). The report shows the division’s progress made in 2023 in the topic of sustainability with its three pillars – economy, environment and society – and is also an endorsement of BASF's commitment to sustainability, demonstrating the company’s dedication to supporting smallholder farmers and promoting sustainable practices.

From scrap tire to clearcoat: BASF Coatings launches first ChemCycling® products in the automotive refinish market

BASF Coatings officially introduced new product lines at Automechanika 2024, the world's leading international trade fair for the automotive aftermarket. Further driving sustainability in the refinish industry, BASF’s next generation of clearcoats employs the company’s unique ChemCycling technology. The product lines, manufactured using recycled feedstock, are marketed under BASF’s premium brands Glasurit and R-M and will boost body shop efficiency and productivity.
