Our key tasks: Through risk-based audits and professional profitability analyses, you will assist the board of executive directors in their monitoring and guidance work. We are an integral part of the internal control and risk management system at BASF.

You have a university degree preferably in business sciences specializing in the areas of finance, controlling and audit. We are also interested if you have completed an equivalent training program.

You should also have several years of successful auditing experience at an accounting firm or audit department. A qualification as a certified internal auditor for example is beneficial and will distinguish you from other applicants during the screening process.

The business unit has its central headquarters in Ludwigshafen, Germany, with audit platforms in the regions of Asia-Pacific as well as North and South America.

Depending on your qualifications, you will be responsible for the following challenges:

  • Independently developing audit strategies for different areas and categories of complexity and risk
  • Carrying out and managing audits of various levels of complexity at BASF Group units and companies based in Germany and around the world
  • Analyzing the efficiency and effectiveness of operational processes and internal inspections
  • Assessing risk management and control processes
  • Identifying potential areas for improvements
  • Producing audit reports and communicating with the management and board of executive directors
  • Implementing our values and principles

HR development starts for us at the recruitment stage: you will receive systematic on-the-job training with the chance to work on real audits combined with other professional and personal further training opportunities.

We offer you a structured further development training at BASF after 4 - 6 years. Alternatively, you have the opportunity to train to become an auditing expert.

We will also be happy to assist you in gaining professional certification, for example as a certified internal auditor.

You will work as part of a highly qualified team on exciting company-wide projects, while enjoying a detailed insight into the corporate diversity of BASF. Projects will be both national and international in scope, and involve all subsidiaries and BASF organizational units such as finance and accounts, logistics, material and production management, and marketing and sales.
