Seeds

Agriculture starts with seeds. And now, BASF can play a leading role in that space. A robust seed offering means we can partner with farmers early in the growing process and support them with all our research and expertise. Our new offering includes:

  • High quality seeds in key field crops: canola / oilseed rape, cotton and soybean in key markets
  • Global vegetable seeds under the Nunhems® brand comprising 24 crops including carrots, melons and tomatoes and more than 2,600 varieties
  • A new hybrid wheat platform, including research, with the potential to offer significant yield benefits to growers.

Herbicides

The additions to our herbicide portfolio mean that more than ever, we can offer farmers leading edge technology and new solutions that are better tailored to their needs. So, what’s new?

  • Glufosinate-ammonium, a non-selective herbicide, registered in more than 100 crops and marketed in more than 80 countries under the premium brands Liberty®, Basta® and Finale®
  • Non-selective herbicide research projects for certain classes of herbicide chemistry
  • Glyphosate-based mixtures for Industrial Vegetation Management (includes railroads, industrial and public areas in Europe)

New digital platform

Our new digital farming applications will help farmers optimize their farm management tailored to their specific needs.

  • xarvio™ uses data-driven algorithms to provide support around a range of agronomic decisions.
  • Includes crop forecasting and target development, as well as image-based identification of disease, weeds, pest and nitrogen problems.

With additional expertise, technologies and resources, we’ll be able to accelerate our own digital plans and improve our overall digital offer. Together, we will set a course for future (digital) growth.

Seed treatment

Our new seed treatment choices - including nematicide seed treatment and research projects which mark our entry into a new market segment - are an exciting addition and valuable teammate for our crop protection products and seed options. What does that mean for you?

  • New seed treatment products increase crop vigor, stands and yields and therefor per-acre profits and bottom lines.
  • PONCHO® for insect control, VOTiVO® for nematode management, COPeO® for cotton protection from nematodes and ILeVO® to protect soybean seeds from the Sudden Death Syndrome (SDS) and nematodes.
