Hartwig Michels new President of the European Petrochemical Association

The European Petrochemical Association (EPCA) announced yesterday that Hartwig Michels, President Petrochemicals BASF, will be the new president of the association. He replaces Marc Schuller, Chief Operating Officer Arkema, after three years at the helm of the EPCA.

In his inaugural address, Michels emphasized his desire to drive the transformation process that EPCA has embarked upon with enthusiasm. "I believe we have to find answers to the changing needs of our members in these politically, economically and socially challenging environment," Michels said. "The petrochemical industry will make an important contribution to achieving the goals of the European Green Deal and thus meet customer demands to create a sustainable, smart and inclusive future".

The EPCA is a European business network for the petrochemical community. It brings together more than 700 companies from over 50 countries.
