BASF at SIMAC 2026: Advanced Materials for Durable and Circular Footwear Concepts

Under the campaign theme "Make the Move," BASF will present polyurethane and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) solutions across the entire footwear life cycle at Simac Tanning Tech 2026 in Milan, Italy. Make the Move stands for moving footwear forward: from established manufacturing methods to new processing technologies, from linear products to circular concepts, shaping the future of footwear.
BASF is expanding its portfolio of amine catalysts with Lupragen® BisDMAPU, a new low-emission catalyst designed for flexible polyurethane (PU) foam applications. Lupragen BisDMAPU is a balanced PU catalyst that supports both gelling and blowing reactions, ensuring reliable, high-quality foam formation and dimensional stability. With its low volatility and low odor, the catalyst can help manufacturers reduce volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions from finished foam products, making it suitable for applications that must meet low-VOC standards.

BASF introduces low-VOC polyurethane catalyst Lupragen® BisDMAPU

BASF’s Intermediates division is expanding its portfolio of amine catalysts with Lupragen® BisDMAPU, a new low-emission catalyst designed for flexible polyurethane (PU) foam applications. Lupragen BisDMAPU (chemical name: 1,3-Bis[3-(dimethylamino)propyl]urea, CAS 52338-87-1) will be available to customers globally under the Lupragen trademark.
With Durasorb® LNG MAX, BASF enables simplified LNG pre-treatment and greater feed gas flexibility through a single-unit adsorption solution that removes trace heavy hydrocarbons, BTEX compounds, and water to cryogenic specifications.

Durasorb® LNG MAX technology implemented at Cheniere’s Corpus Christi LNG facility

BASF announced today that Cheniere Energy, Inc. has commissioned Durasorb® LNG MAX technology at its Corpus Christi LNG facility in Texas, USA (the “CCL Facility”).  Durasorb installation at the CCL Facility began in 2025 and is now in place on multiple mid-scale and large-scale liquefaction trains. Cheniere plans to complete installation and commissioning of Durasorb across the remaining CCL Facility liquefaction trains by the end of 2027.

BASF Agricultural Solutions and IRRI extend partnership to further advance sustainable rice cultivation

BASF Agricultural Solutions and the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) have extended their scientific collaboration named “Optimizing Management for Reduction of Greenhouse Gases in Rice” (“OPTIMA Rice”) to further advance sustainable rice cultivation, targeting reductions of methane and other greenhouse gases.
The modernized plant for acid chlorides and chloroformates (ACCF) at BASF’s Ludwigshafen site. The investment, amounting to a low three-digit million-euro sum, increases production capacity by around 30 percent.

BASF strengthens production of acid chlorides and chloro­formates with fully modernized plant in Ludwigs­hafen

BASF today officially inaugurated its fully modernized plant for the production of acid chlorides and chloroformates (ACCF) at the Ludwigshafen Verbund site. The new production asset represents a milestone for BASF’s Intermediates division, designed to combine increased production capacity with enhanced sustainability performance and long-term supply reliability for customers worldwide.
