trinamiX introduces automotive-grade wide-Field-of-View dot projector enabling convenient Health and Safety Features at CES 2026

  • Driver monitoring functions for both front-seat occupants with one single module
  • Revolutionary vital signs tracking
  • Secure and reliable seatbelt recognition through material detection
  • 3D distance mapping for optimized airbag deployment and safety restraint system management
  • Live demonstrations at trinamiX booth LVCC, West Hall #4565

Ludwigshafen, Germany, December 03, 2025At CES 2026, trinamiX GmbH, a leader in biometric imaging technology, will unveil its groundbreaking wide-Field-of-View (110° × 85°) dot projector designed to enhance automotive in-vehicle health and safety. Combined with trinamiX proprietary software and a near-infrared camera, this technology features advanced sensing capabilities — including secure Face Authentication, remote vital signs tracking, 3D distance mapping for optimized airbag deployment and recognition of correct and secure seatbelt routing. The projector’s wide Field-of-View enables simultaneous monitoring of both the driver and front-seat passenger, reducing the need for multiple sensors.

Revolutionary Vital Signs Tracking

The technology captures the reflections of light emitted by the laser dot projector in the near-infrared spectrum, leveraging artificial intelligence algorithms to derive vital signs. The solution is designed to identify stressful situations or potential medical emergencies in the car by tracking the heart rate in real time. This information can trigger safety features aimed at safeguarding the driver, passengers, and other road users in emergency situations.

Optimizing Safety and Comfort

The eye-safe laser-based dot projector is a compact yet powerful solution supporting a wide range of applications:

  • Front Seats Monitoring: A single module combining wFoV (110° × 85°) dot projector with a 5MP camera covers both the driver and passenger for enhanced front-seat safety.
  • Remote Vital Signs Sensing: Non-invasive monitoring ensures a seamless, convenient experience for users that supports the health and well-being of both front-seat occupants.
  • Advanced Seatbelt Recognition: Material detection ensures proper seatbelt usage for front-seat occupants.
  • Precise Restraint System Management: Real-time 3D mapping allows tailored airbag deployment and detection of correct seatbelt routing for improved passenger protection.
  • Secure Face Authentication for driver identification and in-car payment authorization

„Automakers want solutions that are secure, adaptable and easy to integrate. By combining trinamiX technology with partner expertise, we offer a flexible sensing solution that enhances user safety and comfort for every journey”, said Wilfried Hermes, Director Automotive and Consumer Electronics North America and Europe at trinamiX GmbH.

The showcased “Invisible Biometric Sensing Display”, developed jointly with AUMOVIO, demonstrates how the dot projector can be seamlessly integrated into driver monitoring systems.

Frictionless Vehicle Access

Another highlight at the trinamiX booth will be the Smart B‑pillar demonstrator featuring the company’s biometric imaging technology, known as Beam Profile Analysis. The solution enables frictionless vehicle access by combining 2D facial recognition with trinamiX’s patented liveness check — not only verifying a visual match but also distinguishing real people from hyper‑realistic masks or deepfakes.

Business partners and journalists may register in advance to attend live demonstrations at the trinamiX booth LVCC, West Hall #4565.
