Eurofins and trinamiX launch Mobile Feed Analysis Solution for Equine Nutrition
Wageningen, Netherlands, Ludwigshafen, Germany; January 20, 2026 — Eurofins Agro Testing and trinamiX GmbH, announce a jointly developed mobile feed analysis solution for the equine sector that brings best-in-class forage testing directly to stables and pastures across Europe. This empowers stable owners, horse feed producers, equine nutritionists, forage dealers and veterinary professionals to make informed decisions based on real-time nutritional insights. The solution is intended for the full range of equine segments, from sport horses and breeding to leisure and rehabilitation.
Forage is the cornerstone of every horse’s diet, yet its nutritional value can vary widely due to species, harvest timing, soil, storage and regional conditions. Accurate, on-site analysis is essential for formulating balanced rations, supporting digestive health, preventing metabolic disorders and enhancing performance.
Using the handheld trinamiX PAL Two spectrometer, users can instantly analyse the nutritional composition of key forages such as fresh grass (and clover), hay, and haylage, on site. The following parameters are available within seconds, enabling immediate dietary adjustments: ADF, ADL, crude ash, crude fat, crude fibre, crude protein, dry matter, NDF, digestibility coefficient of organic matter (OMD), sugar and fructans for hay and pH for haylage. Energy values are currently available for Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden; values for other countries will be added shortly.
Building on their successful collaboration in ruminant nutrition, trinamiX and Eurofins Agro now extend their mobile near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy solution to the equine world. The handheld trinamiX PAL Two spectrometer, paired with an intuitive app and Eurofins Agro’s equine-specific applications, delivers best-in-class nutritional analysis in seconds backed by robust chemometric models developed from thousands of European forage samples.
This solution reflects Eurofins Agro’s commitment to advancing sustainable agriculture and animal health through innovative, data-driven tools. It aligns with the parameters of Equi Feed, where Animal Health is central, supported by key nutritional pillars: Nutritional content, fibres, trace elements, and minerals. Within this framework, the trinamiX PAL Two solution emphasizes nutritional and fibre analysis — essential components for equine well-being.
trinamiX PAL Two spectrometers, equipped with Eurofins’ equine applications, will be available across an expanding geographical footprint. Initial rollout includes Benelux, DACH, the Nordics, UK, Ireland, and Poland.
