Honor® WDG Intrinsic® brand turf fungicide from BASF approved in Japan to treat root health
- Versatile fungicide for bentgrass also helps improve root weight
- Japan's first Intrinsic® brand product for improving plant health
- Safe use during high temperatures – meaning turf can be kept healthy, even in summer
Toyko, Japan – July 27, 2018 – Honor® WDG, a broad-spectrum fungicide for bentgrass launched earlier this year, is now also registered for use as a treatment to improve root weight, for the first case as turf fungicide.
Honor® WDG is a broad-spectrum fungicide that can effectively prevent and control bentgrass diseases that affect golf courses, such as anthracnose, Pythium disease and dollar spot. It is highly safe for use on bentgrass, and can even be used during the hot summer months.
Honor® WDG is the first turf fungicide containing pyraclostrobin available in Japan. Pyraclostrobin-containing turf fungicides are already being sold by BASF in the United States, and have been recommended by superintendents and turf managers for their excellent turf disease prevention capabilities and their effectiveness in maintaining turf quality. They have been confirmed in the United States to enrich roots and speed up recovery following aeration. These BASF products that provide turf plant health benefits are marketed under umbrella brand called Intrinsic®.
"We are very pleased that the plant health benefits of Intrinsic® brand, Honor® WDG, have been recognized," said Hideaki Fukuhara, Senior Manager, Professional & Specialty Solutions, Crop Protection, BASF Japan. "This product is safe for use on bentgrass, and can be used with peace of mind during the hot upcoming summer months. It draws upon the essential weight of turf, helping golf course superintendents and turf managers to produce healthier, more beautiful turf."
