BASF launches Sercadis® D Flowable for fruit tree crops
- New mixture of SDHI fungicide Xemium® and multisite fungicide Dithianon
- Effective for resistant management with two different modes of action
Tokyo, Japan – February 5, 2021 – BASF has launched Sercadis D Flowable to give Japanese farmers a new powerful tool for disease control and resistance management. Jointly developed with Nippon Soda Co., Ltd., Sercadis D Flowable will be marketed and sold by both companies for the control major diseases occurring in fruit trees – such as apple, pear, peach and nectarine.
Featuring a mixture of the high-performance and broad-spectrum SDHI fungicide Xemium and multisite fungicide Dithianon, Sercadis D Flowable provides farmers with several key benefits, including:
· Multiple modes of action for better resistance management
· Control of diseases already resistant to existing fungicides
· Prevention and curative effects on wide range of diseases
· Execellent translaminar efficacy and residual activity
With its excellent translaminar efficacy and systemic action, Xemium is absorbed from the surface to the inside of the leaf and other parts of the plant. In addition, due to its unique properties, Xemium binds itself to the plant surface resulting in excellent residual activity. Combined with the stable preventive effect of Dithianon, Sercadis D Flowable gives fruit growers a new option to control major diseases.
"Continuous use of certain fungicides can lead to the development of resistance, which can cause signifitcant impact on crop yields. BASF supports growers to protect their crops from disease by offering a variety of disease control options," said Shinsuke Noda, Vice Director, Marketing, Agricultural Solutions, BASF Japan.
