BASF Stiftung
Employee Donation Campaign #Earthquake2023
Support for Turkey & Syria
The donation campaign is over. We will report on the final sum shortly.
Following the corporate donation for immediate disaster response to the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria of €500,000 to the German Red Cross, BASF Stiftung launches an employee donation campaign for colleagues to support the people in the affected region.
BASF will double the amount donated by the employees!

While emergency humanitarian aid focus on basic relief supplies, the need for help will carry on. With BASF's donation campaign in favor of BASF Stiftung, we want to raise money for disaster recovery activities after the first wave of help will slow down.
What happens with the donations?
While most organizations and donation campaigns focus on immidiate emergency aid, we want to focus on mid-termin support.
We will focus on disaster recovery activities after the first wave of help will slow down.
A donation committee comprising local and global BASF representatives as well as BASF Stiftung will decide on relevant and trusted organizations on the ground that address the biggest needs in the affected region most effectively. Examples could be providing temporary housing, reconstruction of educational and medical facilities or strengthening community, health and psychological support.
We will inform you about the use of the donations!
We are deeply concerned by the pictures we see from the earthquake region and by what we hear from our local teams. Our thoughts are with the people affected by the devastating events.
The effects of this tragic disaster will have a long-lasting impact on the people. They need our support even after the immediate emergency aid.
Please note: Due to PayPal regulations this donation option is not available for some countries, e.g. in Asia, Turkey.
Due to legal regulations, employees from the United Arab Emirates cannot participate in the donation campaign.
We are currently working on another option to donate via credit card.
