Are you a foam product's producer? Or a formulator of adhesives? We offer different options for users along the material chain. Click the option below to learn more!

Low odor and non-yellowing foam adhesives are now possible by using BASF water-based dispersion. We offer two options for formulators:

  1. The possibility to blend in our acrylic co-polymer to emulsion based polychloroprene; or
  2. Blending acrylic co-polymer to polyurethane dispersions as the alternative to the polychloroprene adhesive technology.

If you opt for blending acrylic co-polymer to polychloroprene, it could help reduce the overall economy of your formulation. This blending would permit the overall formulation to stay as one-component system. This means you could use your existing spraying equipment, and ensure minimal changes to your current operation. Additionally, your formulated product would have less yellowing and lower odor.

Another option is to go for the blending of acrylic co-polymer and polyurethane dispersions. With this formulation, your product will have excellent storage stability with longer product shelf-life compared to emulsion polychloroprene. A special reagent is needed to make it a two-component sprayable system for required technical performances.

If you are still in dilemma which one to choose, contact us and let’s discuss your options.

If adhesive formulation is too complicated to you, consider using our high performance emulsion acrylic Acronal® 3657X as an alternative or replacement of your current adhesive. The dispersion is used together with a special reagent in a two-component spraying system. The spraying system consists of two separate containers to keep the base polymer and special reagent apart. Upon spraying, the two components would meet each other in front of the nozzle, creating a spider-web-like coating and laid on the foam surface. Our product is designed to match the performance of emulsion polychloroprene adhesive technology, but with less odor,  non-yellowing and excellent storage stability with longer product shelf-life.
