BASF to increase prices for styrene butadiene emulsion polymers in North America

Charlotte, NC  March 22, 2013 – BASF will increase the price for all medium solids styrene butadiene emulsion polymers by $0.05 per wet pound in North America, effective March 29, 2013 or as contracts allow. This price increase involves BASF products under the tradename Butofan®

BASF will also increase the price for all high solids styrene butadiene emulsion polymers by $0.08 per wet pound in North America, effective March 29, 2013 or as contracts allow.  This price increase involves BASF products under the tradename Butanol®

These price increases are necessitated due to significant increases in butadiene prices and are for products sold to the latex foam, construction, adhesives, carpet, fiberbonding and automotive industries.

BASF also announces a price increase for all styrene butadiene emulsion polymers by $0.05 per wet pound in North America, effective March 29, 2013 or as contracts allow under the tradename Styrofan® and Styronal®

These price increases are necessitated due to significant increases in butadiene and styrene prices and are for products sold to the latex foam, construction, adhesives, fiberbonding, automotive, sealants and related industries.
