Company recognized in International Business category

WINDSOR, ON, April 23, 2015 -- BASF Canada was recognized for International Business excellence at the 25th Anniversary Business Excellence Awards hosted by the Windsor-Essex Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented to Carles Navarro, President of BASF Canada, at a ceremony on April 22. The Chamber recognizes companies who have set standards and demonstrated achievements that have contributed to prosperity and business development in Windsor and Essex County.

“BASF Canada is a proud member of the Windsor business community and we are honoured to be recognized with the International Business Award,” said Darryl Ferguson, Windsor Site Director. “We thank the Chamber of Commerce for recognizing our commitment to the Windsor community. This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all our employees.”

Ferguson was recently appointed the new Windsor Site Director, succeeding Guido Broche, who has taken a position with the company’s procurement division in Texas.

BASF Canada’s Windsor site manufactures both waterborne and solvent-based automotive paints and coatings, including brands like Glasurit, RM and LIMCO. These products are used by major automotive manufacturers like General Motors, Ford, Mercedes, BMW and Honda; as well as, collision repair centers across North America.

BASF is active in the Windsor community, supporting science education, ecology health and safety and local community based initiatives through monetary donations and employee volunteer efforts. In 2014, the company brought Kids’ Lab, a series of hands-on chemistry workshops developed by BASF for children between the ages of 6-12, to students in the Windsor community.
