BASF brings Kids’ Lab to the Morris Museum

Company encourages science education in the community

MORRISTOWN, NJ and FLORHAM PARK, NJ, March 24, 2016 – The Morris Museum officially dedicated a science lab to BASF Corporation and its award winning Kids’ Lab program, recognizing the company’s sponsorship and commitment to science education in the Morris County community.

The BASF Kids’ Lab program enhances science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) related education for students (ages 6 – 12), encouraging kids to explore the connections between chemistry and the world around them. Since 2010, the program has engaged more than 90,000 participants.

“Our goal is to encourage and stimulate young learners to explore their interest in STEM-related fields,” said Robin Rotenberg, Vice President and Chief Communications Officer for North America at BASF. “It is important for children to understand the science concepts in the world around them and view technology as a possible rewarding career path.”

BASF Kids’ Lab at the Morris Museum includes a science lab station for demonstrations, individual student workstations, an interactive smart board and laptops and lab materials.

“Through its sponsorship of science education, BASF Corporation has been a great partner to the Morris Museum,” said Linda Moore, Executive Director at Morris Museum. “The newly branded Kids’ Lab enables the museum to present dynamic science programming to children from Morris County and beyond.”

In North America, BASF supports numerous programs that encourage students to explore career possibilities in STEM related fields. For more information about BASF Science Education in North America, visit their Facebook.
