BASF Houston donates $22,000 to the Houston Food Bank
HOUSTON, TX, JUNE 29, 2020 – BASF has donated $22,000 to the Houston Food Bank. The contribution will help the food bank secure donations of perishable and nonperishable food items needed to support an increased demand since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The Houston Food Bank is an important community partner,” said Eric Barbour, Site Manager of BASF’s Houston facility. “The number of people in need has increased due to the pandemic and BASF is pleased to support the food bank’s efforts to remain an active resource for needed support.”
Amy Ragan, Chief Development Officer for the Houston Food Bank, said: “BASF’s contribution means that families and seniors who struggle with food insecurity will receive needed food to help during these trying times. We are grateful for the company’s continued support and we look forward to the future of our partnership.”
BASF will sponsor a Run for Food team at the 2021 Houston marathon to benefit the Houston Food Bank. Annually, the company’s African American Employee Resource Group hosts a family volunteer day to help organize and prepare shipments to local families.
