BASF sponsors Chattanooga Engineers Week
CHATTANOOGA, TN, February 25, 2021 — As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting the importance of engineering, as well as math, science and technical skills, BASF is a premier sponsor of Chattanooga Engineers Week, taking place this week. The local annual outreach event is part of National Engineers Week, which celebrates how engineers make a difference in the world and brings engineering to life for children, educators and parents.
“The spirit of Engineers Week captures BASF’s continuous mission to promote science and technology in our community; particularly among our youngest engineering students,” said Rob Gagliano, Site Director of BASF’s Chattanooga sites. “It is a privilege to invest in this event and in our region’s institutions of higher learning that continuously create new opportunities and experiences for our students to learn.”
As part of the sponsorship, BASF will contribute $1,000 each to Chattanooga Engineers Week, UTC’s College of Engineering and Computer Science and Chattanooga State’s Division of Engineering and Information Technologies.
National Engineers Week was founded in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers. The purpose of the event is to ensure a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of an interest in engineering and technology career.
