BASF ranks 12 on list of DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity

FLORHAM PARK, NJ, May 6, 2022 – For the tenth consecutive year, BASF earned a ranking as one of the Top 50 Companies for Diversity by DiversityInc. Despite a 20% increase in companies benchmarked for this distinction, BASF retained its number 12 position on the list, consistent with 2021. BASF was also singled out this year as a Top Company for Sponsorship, a Top Company for Mentoring, a Top Company for Executive Diversity Councils, and a Top Company for Latino Executives as part of the specialty lists of company distinctions.

“Diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential to our success as a business operating in one of the most dynamic and diverse markets,” said Tobias Dratt, President, BASF North America. “Together, these elements help define our culture and how we show up: in our communities, with partners, and for each other. By deliberately including diverse backgrounds and voices, and advocating for equitable treatment and programs, we create a sense of belonging that positively impacts other priorities from safety and wellbeing to innovation and the customer experience.”

Each year, DiversityInc recognizes the top companies for diversity, equity, and inclusion management, singling out those with strategies that focus on attracting, developing, and retaining great talent from all backgrounds and leveraging the power of different perspectives to drive business growth.

“Our promise to our customers, industry, society and each other is to deliver our best,” said Patricia Rossman, Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer, BASF Corporation. “Intentional focus on diversity, equity and inclusion helps make BASF a great place to work for our people and a more innovative partner for our customers.”

The DiversityInc survey is a comprehensive, empirically data-driven D&I analysis based on organization-submitted data in six key areas: Leadership Accountability, Human Capital Diversity Metrics, Talent Programs, Workplace Practices, Supplier Diversity and Philanthropy.

“Board and senior management accountability and a focus on equitable access to talent development programs were two areas of marked improvement of this year’s survey participants,” said Carolynn Johnson, DiversityInc Chief Executive Officer.
