Community Outreach

An important aspect of social responsibility is how BASF supports the communities where we live and work. We are committed to advancing science education, environment, health and safety and other programs and initiatives that are important to the quality of life in our communities.

BASF and Borough of East Newark celebrate opening of community park along Passaic Riverfront

BASF and the Borough of East Newark today marked the official opening of the East Newark Riverfront Park, a five-acre green space developed on a former industrial site along the Passaic River. The ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrated the culmination of a multi-year effort with federal natural resource trustees to restore and transform the property.

BASF in South Carolina participates in the iMAGINE Upstate STEAM Festival

BASF sites in South Carolina have joined together to sponsor and volunteer at the iMAGINE Upstate STEAM Festival, providing children of all ages an opportunity to learn about chemistry through experiments and demonstrations.

BASF and the Children’s Museum Houston unveil the BASF Power Science Lab

The Children’s Museum Houston, in partnership with BASF, has unveiled the all-new BASF Power Science Lab, a dynamic, hands-on learning space designed to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers and problem solvers. The ribbon-cutting ceremony welcomed local school children, who had the opportunity to become chemists for the day, conducting their own slime experiments.

BASF Chattanooga now accepting applications for 2025 TECH Academy

This summer, BASF’s Chattanooga site, in partnership with Chattanooga State Community College, will host its TECH Academy program, which introduces high school students to technical and craft careers through skills classes, workshops and industry tours.

BASF TotalEnergies Petrochemicals receives United Way Champions of Hope Award

On Wednesday, October 23, BASF TotalEnergies Petrochemicals, LLC., was presented the United Way Champions of Hope Award. The United Way of Mid & South Jefferson County selected BASF TotalEnergies Petrochemicals (BTP) for its great support of the United Way’s literacy program and for serving as title sponsors for the Pearls & Purses Designer Purse Bingo with proceeds to literacy in the region.
