BASF and Hagihara Industries collaborate to deliver highly durable artificial grass for sports fields

BASF, a global leader in chemical innovation, and Hagihara Industries, Inc., a leading synthetic fiber producer in Japan, have joined forces to develop highly durable polyolefin yarns for artificial turf used in sports arenas, including football stadiums, baseball fields, and tennis courts. After three years of collaborative research and development, the two companies have created an advanced formulation with a series of Tinuvin® grades that significantly enhances the durability of synthetic grass, making it less susceptible to damage from sun exposure and ensuring it retains its vibrant color.

BASF declares Force Majeure for selected vitamin A, vitamin E, and carotenoid products as well as selected aroma ingredients

As a result of a fire that occurred in a BASF plant in Ludwigshafen, Germany on July 29, 2024, BASF SE - also on behalf of its affected affiliates - declares Force Majeure on deliveries of selected vitamin A, vitamin E, and carotenoid products as well as selected aroma ingredients, with immediate effect and until further notice. The selected aroma ingredients are Ionones, Pyranol, DL-Menthol, Rose Oxides, Ethyllinalool, Nerolidol, and Isophytol R. BASF is in close contact with customers to share updates and the developments regarding the supply capability of the affected products.

BASF launches game-changing heat and light stabilizer Tinuvin® NOR® 211 AR for sustainable farming practices

BASF launches Tinuvin® NOR® 211 AR to support film producers and converters globally in navigating the challenging landscape of plasticulture – the use of plastic materials in agricultural applications. This new high-performance heat and light stabilizer protects and prolongs the lifespan of agricultural plastics that require resistance to high levels of inorganic chemicals like sulfur and chlorine. Tinuvin NOR 211 AR offers an effective value-in-use solution for agricultural plastics exposed to intense UV radiation, thermal stress, and inorganic chemicals commonly used in crop management and disinfection.

BASF invests in capacity expansion of Basoflux® range of paraffin inhibitors

BASF plans to expand the global production capacity of its Basoflux® range of paraffin inhibitors at its site in Tarragona, Spain. This investment will enable BASF’s Oilfield Chemicals business to meet the current and future demand of novel paraffin inhibitors for the Oil & Gas industry. Additional assets will create efficiencies and flexibility in the production of newly developed solutions, such as more sustainable aqueous-based dispersion paraffin inhibitors and solvent-based products. This plant expansion will also enable BASF to act swiftly to on-demand changes in the market. First customer deliveries are expected for the beginning of 2025.
