Corporate Report

In 2004, BASF treaded new paths in its sustainability reporting, which has since been compiled in a single publication. The new format was titled corporate report and replaced the previous three individual reports (the annual report, the environment, health & safety report and the social responsibility report) from 2003. Only the financial report continued to be published separately.

Applying the three-in-one concept enabled BASF to create even greater transparency. In addition, the compiled reporting helped to underline the importance of sustainability for the company.

In another first, the corporate report from 2003 was adapted to comply with international standards. For the first time, BASF followed the international Sustainability Reporting Standards specified by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), an independent multi-stakeholder organization.
