1964 / BASF in Belgium

In 1964, BASF at the river Rhine gets a branch factory at the sea: BASF Antwerp is founded in Belgium. In a short time, it becomes the second largest European Verbund site of BASF. The favorable access to raw materials and excellent logistics that links to overseas customers, which provides the Antwerp site, promoting this development. It produces fertilizers, fiber intermediates, plastics, and chemicals.
