1996 / New Class of Active Ingredients

BASF introduces BRIO to the market, the first fungicide of an entirely new class of fungicidal active ingredients – the strobilurines. A quantum leap against mildew.

In 2002, BASF launches the broad-band fungicide Opera containing F500, another active ingredient of the strobilurine class. Opera proves especially successful in Brazil. Products containing F 500 are among the best-selling crop protection products in the world.
