Claus holds a doctorate in chemistry and has been an investment manager at BASF Venture Capital in Ludwigshafen since September 2010.
He has held various positions at BASF since 1994. Among other things, he was head of two plants and in this function helped to establish the new Electronic Materials Europe business unit. Prior to that, he was Group Leader of the Business Process Management Team for four years, responsible for business process development and the introduction of SAP R/3 in the Detergents and Formulators unit.
Claus comes from North Rhine-Westphalia and studied chemistry at the University of Münster and at UCSB in Santa Barbara, USA.
