At a large and complex company site like Ludwigshafen the security requirements are many and varied. Protecting our employees, contractors and guests as well as our assets und facilities requires a good team of security experts. We are responsible from creation of ID cards to the processing of security-relevant information. The employess of the Site Security are well trained and meet these challenges.

Early closure of the North ID Card Office on April 17 & April 24, 2026

Due to renovation work, the North ID Card Office (Building J660) will close at 2:30 p.m. on April 17 & April 24, 2026.
As an alternative, the South ID Card Office (Building Z022, Anilinstraße 6, Ludwigshafen am Rhein) will be open until 6:00 p.m.

Lost items and lost property

Lost property can still be handed in at the plant security office at each work gate. The colleagues there record the item in a database and can also see there whether an item you have lost has been handed in. After 2 weeks, all items handed in at BASF that are not BASF property will be handed over to the lost and found office in Ludwigshafen:

Ludwigshafen Site Security regulates plant access, vehicle entries and the taking of objects by means of permanently or temporarily issued passes and permits. Permanent import and export licenses

Persons with permanent IDs must generally register their materials, tools and equipment required to perform work on behalf of BASF SE.

This means that company-owned items, that are repeatedly imported and / or exported, must be registered in the system. A requirement is that the user has access to the BASF Self Service Portal. In this portal, the recording of the items takes place exclusively for the permanent ID card holder. You can find all further information here

More information about the safety film and safety test

The BASI (Basic Safety Instruction) application replaces the previous, outdated ‘Secova SAM’ application for safety films and safety tests in Ludwigshafen and Schwarzheide.
BASI combines a short film with a subsequent test that can be completed remotely or on site. The general content covers access, ID cards, traffic rules, hazard signals and emergency measures. The test consists of a few questions, all of which must be answered correctly. Repetitions are possible to ensure admission on the day of the assignment.
