BASF showcases new concepts and ingredients for the color cosmetics and personal care industries

FLORHAM PARK, NJ – May 15, 2018 – BASF’s Care Creations and Colors & Effects brands are bringing new concepts, formulations and ingredients for the color cosmetics and personal care industries to the 2018 New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC) Suppliers’ Day, May 15-16 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

BASF Care Creations is launching three new personal care solutions at the show under the theme “Step into Confidence,” to help consumers improve their appearance while maintaining their health and wellbeing.

BASF’s Colors & Effects brand is showcasing its recently launched “Proud to be you” collection, which includes a range of pigments and effect formulations that are designed to bring out the individual best in everyone while celebrating beauty and diversity.

BASF Care Creations’ New Launches at Suppliers’ Day 2018

Replexium® – Developed by BASF to fulfill consumer needs, Replexium is a skin-bioavailable synergistic complex of two patented peptides. It has been shown to work on various layers of the skin by targeting specific proteoglycans (lumican and syndecan-1), as well as collagen XVII. These dermal and epidermal components are responsible for providing skin’s biomechanical properties and all have been shown to decrease with age. In vitro studies demonstrated Replexium’s ability to increase the synthesis of lumican, syndecan-1, and collagen types I and XVII in various skin cells and skin models. In clinical studies, Replexium demonstrated its ability to significantly decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles: 11 percent after three weeks, and 23 percent after eight weeks.
