BASF is innovating in the flexible packaging market to meet the increasing market needs for high- and medium- duty lamination ink applications. For this reason in 2016, BASF will launch several new solvent-based products under the Versamid PUR brand to support the growing market needs while continuing to strengthen our water-based portfolio. In addition, BASF is continuing to enable conversion to more sustainable water-based inks for flexible packaging with new developments in the Joncryl FLX series.

JONCRYL FLX 5220Enables conversion from solvent- to water-based ink for medium duty and high performance film printing applications, including retort packaging. This new polyurethane - acrylic hybrid dispersion for flexible packaging reaches the highest performance level by combining the best of polyurethane and styrene-acrylic dispersions. It achieves superior lamination bond strength on a broad range of substrates, very good printability, lay and resolubility, improved substrate wetting and blocking resistance and excellent compatibility with different pigment concentrates.
