Who we are

Community Engagement

BASF is committed to the well-being of the communities in which we operate. With a long history of collaborating with local organizations that seek to create positive change and strengthen the fabric of our society.

Our employees live and work in the local communities too. They raise their families here. Their children go to school here. So, we continuously support the generous volunteerism of our employees and encourage them to take an active role in our community to make it an even better place to live and work.

Each year, BASF sites in Michigan contribute to their communities with charitable donations, in-kind services and volunteerism to a variety of non-profit organizations such as the Grosse Ile Nature and Land Conservancy, Life Remodeled, and Gleaners Food Bank to name a few. It is in this spirit that BASF will remain committed to being a leader and an important member of our Michigan communities.

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)

Do you know kids’ most popular reaction to chemistry? It’s “Wow!”

In BASF Kids’ Labs, children become scientists. They experiment in a playful manner and learn why and how the world’s marvels work. We believe that science can be seen as a foundation of wonder, and one day these kids will wow us in return. BASF employee volunteers have brought interactive Kids’ Labs to a variety of elementary schools across Michigan.

BASF is also a proud sponsor of Kids’ Lab activities at the  Michigan Science Center.

Industry and County Organizations

Much like our community engagement, many of our employees are members of industry and county organizations. BASF is a proud member of the Michigan Chemistry Council, Business Leaders for Michigan, Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber, and many more.
