Roland Nunheim

Roland is a graduate economist with a wealth of experience in the investment sector. He has been Managing Director of BASF Venture Capital since April 2024.
Roland has been working for BASF for more than 25 years. He has worked in Corporate Finance, Strategy and Auditing functions. His professional path took him to the USA, among other places. From 2002 to 2010, Roland led the asset management team, which is responsible for managing BASF's pension funds worldwide. During this time, his team has introduced alternative asset classes such as private equity and hedge fund programs for BASF pension funds. Prior to joining BASF Venture Capital, he was Head of Financing Subsidiaries and Joint Ventures, where he was primarily responsible for financing projects such as arranging a syndicated bank loan for BASF's Verbund site in Zhanjiang, China, and project financing for the Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind farm.
Roland received his master's degree in economics from the University of Heidelberg.
He likes to spend his free time in the vineyards on the Bergstraße or on his bike.
